Project development and design
Once an idea is conceived for a new line, we proceed to develop a series of sketches, which provide an initial visual impression. Based on these, a selection is made of the best aesthetic solution. This design is then adjusted for production purposes, having to consider all the characteristics of pewter in a given shape. The ideal solution is adopted after manoeuvring to overcome any manufacturing hurdles

Production of the actual full scale model
This phase is performed totally by hand. Usually one starts with sheets of pewter in various gauges based on the specific shape one intends to develop. These sheets are cut, shaped in various manners using both cold and hot processes. The former involves the use of special hammers and other ancient tools, the latter through heat as necessary, joined through welding, and then etched and finished with various files until looks are precisely the desired ones. |

Mould construction
Having the actual and finished model on hand, a mould is then made from it in either plaster, rubber or steel, depending on the nature and shape of the item and of its intended production runs. Model is then preserved as a master in a case moulds need repair or replacement.

Casting process
Liquid pewter properly mixed and at the correct temperature, is poured manually inside the mould. Each item normally requires more than one mould to obtain all its facings and components, which are later welded together. |
 |
Pewter assembly
In this phase all the loose components are joined and welded by hand with the utmost precision. There are many controls in this stage, to determine ability to hold liquids for those objects that must comply. |

Polishing
Items are then submitted to an accurate cleaning and finishing process. They are placed in special vats to begin with, where they receive a complete but delicate preliminary rubdown. Then they are moved to polishing wheels that are abrasive to various degrees, depending on the type of surface that is desired, glossy or matte
